1) Readthis paper on working-class men. Identify one change that has occurred over time (so you would be comparing working-class men today to otherwise equivalent working-class men in the past) discussed by the authors and explain using our model of labor-leisure decisions how that change could affect a hypothetical working-class man's decision of whether and how much to participate in the labor force. (Does it change the budget constraint? The slope of the indifference curve? Why and in what way? How would this affect optimal leisure and consumption?)
