Assignment #$1$ Leadership Development Model the Way

Assignment Overview:

In this assignment, you will produce an artifact in which you will introduce a leader of your

choice and explain how the leader has exemplified the concepts of $$Model the Way$.$

When describing your chosen leader, be sure to consider the values that the leader has

and their actions which reflect those values. In what ways has this leader set an

example? What behaviours have you observed that demonstrate their character? How

would you describe this leader$$s style?

You will be assessed on your ability to:

$$ understand and recognize attributes related to the $1$st Principle of the Leadership

Challenge $$ MODEL THE WAY and the first two commitments;

$$ understand and recognize attributes related to the values and ethics of exemplary

leadership;

$$ identify different leadership styles and their strengths and weaknesses; and

$$ explain how relationships and teams are impacted by these attributes.

Steps to Complete:

$1.$ Complete the assigned readings in the modules.

$2.$ You are encouraged to be creative in your submission. Your assignment

can be in the form of a presentation, a video, a poster, a poem or a

traditional paper. If you are submitting a traditional paper, the submission should

be no more than $700$ words, excluding the title and reference pages.

$3.$ The following instructions and questions can guide you to complete this

assignment:

a$.$ Choose a leader that you admire and describe why you have chosen this

leader.

b$.$ What values do they have? How do you know? How have they clarified

their values for you or others?

c$.$ In what ways have they set an example? How do they demonstrate

character and ethical behaviour?
