Explain the archetype's causes and effects in the general sense. From a System Dynamics perspective what is going on when this archetype occurs in the real world (what dynamics are in play)? When does it happen, why, how do we know? This includes a description of what the data graphs would look like for your selected archetype. This portion of the answer would be very similar to the textbook/class lectures. Here you are discussing the archetype in the general sense. ( 3 points) 3. Diagram a very specific real-world example of your archetype. I want you to take an example from the real world and draw it as the archetype you selected. You will draw it out with proper System Dynamics labels (variable names, polarity, delays, etc.) Ensure your diagram \& variable names meet all of the best practices you have been taught this semester. Make sure it is properly labeled with polarity and loop labels. Make sure the variables conform to best practices we learned this semester. ( 6 points) 4. Provide a clearly written paragraph(s) to describe your scenario and archetype. What is going on in this scenario and WHY? What are the causal relationships - I want details! Are there tipping points-describe what they might be. This needs to be clear and complete. Write it like you were explaining this concept to grandma! This answer takes the general depiction in #2 and discusses it in the context of your specific example. ( 6 points) 5. Describe what you as a manager would do to mitigate/correct the behavior you are describing in your archetype. Provide very specific changes you as a manager could take to correct the system behavior. This is asking for an explanation of this archetype based on all we learned this semester. Remember where the best leverage points are to correct system behavior. (3 points) 6. Explain how system dynamics allows you to better diagnose and correct this system problem. (2 points)
