Two adjacent (ideal) parallel plate capacitors with given geometrical dimensions \( l_{1}, l_{2}\) and \( h \), as shown schematically in Fig. 1, are employed as a deflection system for the motion of particles of positive charge \( q \) and mass \( m \). The upper capacitor plates are grounded (zero potential) while the lower plates can be maintained at desired controlling potentials \( V_{1}\) and \( V_{2}\). It is observed that the particle entering this system with the horizontal velocity \( v \) at point A , exits the system at point B , continuing to move strictly horizontally but displaced "upward" from the entry point by distance \( d \). Find such \( V_{1}\) and \( V_{2}\)(including their polarities) that were used to realize the described deflection effect on the particle in the plane of Fig. 1. Gravity effect is negligible.
