1. Using the Search and Rescue UAV System documentation included with the Midterm, draw a Use Case diagram. The Use Case diagram should include four (4) actors, and at least one (1) > and one (1) >.
2. Using the Search and Rescue UAV System documentation included with the Midterm, draw an Activity diagram. The Activity diagram should include at least one (1) decision and one (1) split/join (concurrent activities).

Search and Rescue UAV System Concept Overview An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is needed for Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, especially in rough and dangerous terrain. This type of mission is defined when we need to find people or objects (known as "Targets") such as crashed planes, lost skiers, mountain climbers, lost people in a desert, survivors of floods, earthquakes or other accident and disaster circumstances. UAVs are the best systems for these missions because they are faster than human SAR teams trying to traverse rough terrain, don't tire, and can incorporate Artificial Intelligence algorithms into search patterns to increase probability of finding Targets quickly. If found, they can also report locations, status of Targets, terrain and weather conditions, and other important data for higher accuracy in their search mission. They can also include communications capability so Targets can be notified that help is on the way, and potentially even speak with SAR personnel (Base Operator and First Responders). Such systems reduce the required labor, cost, time, and increase safety for human seach personnel. They also increase safety for search Targets by finding them quickly, providing notice that help is on the way, and reporting data back to the SAR teams. Purpose: The UAV is used to: - Search a region to find Targets (people/objects) - Notify the Base Operator when it finds survivors - Notify the First Responders of the location and condition of survivors, and associated data Roles - Base Operator-the individual who commands the UAV to start the mission - First Responders - the first aid group who performs the rescue mission - Maintenance Personnel - the individuals who maintain the operational readiness (repair and upgrade) of the UAV - Targets - the victims intended to be rescued
