The company's brands generated retail sales of more than $1 billion a piece and the company's products were distributed across more than 6 cities in KSA, resulting in annual net revenues of $43.3 billion based on net revenue. The only set back the company was facing was due to the product "Just Chill" soft drink, which was introduced 3 months back. The sales were not picking up and the Top management team decided to hire a Management consultant, Britney O Donell to investigate the reasons for low sales revenue, Britney was given a task by their top management team to evaluate the effectiveness of their company's promotion techniques. Britney was asked to evaluate whether a new promotion technique to introduce the product is more effective than the standard promotion technique. For doing this, she divides the market randomly by chance) into two groups and calls them "Market A" and "Market B." The random assignment process results in two groups that share equal characteristics. In Market A, she uses a new promotion technique. In Market B she uses the standard promotion technique which is always used by the company. She compares the sales revenue at the end of the quarter to evaluate the success of the new promotion technique compared to the standard promotion technique.
