Strategic Analysis: First paper will require you to apply what you learned in the first four weeks of the class to a target ad of your choice. Content-wise you are flexible to use as many topics/subjects/frameworks as you can to be able to analyze the underlying marketing strategy implemented in the ad. E.g., Is branding strategy clear, consistent, meaningful? Is the communication strategy successful? Does the message source effective? Are there any obvious sources of noise? What is the primary objective and is it reached? What is the target audience and has it been reached successfully? Are there any positioning issues? Is it money well spent? Does the presumed creative brief effective? Etc. Use any of these (and more from the lectures) to support your case for why this ad is strategically successful or not. Do not include any evaluation of the creative aspects of the ad, just the strategy. This has to be an academic analysis of the strategy underlying the ad and not a layperson judgment on why you liked or disliked the ad. If you submit a paper that you could have written before taking the class, it is not good for the purpose of this assignment. The point is to apply what you have learned.
