Case study AMIX is a well-known skin care and cosmetic company. The company divides the department based on job function. Recently the company received huge orders from other overseas companies to produce and deliver various products to them. As such, the CEO of AMIX, Cayden Lee, restructured the departments of the company in order to meet the business requirements of these additional orders. Three Product Managers are appointed to in charge of the three major orders from overseas. Every department receives instruction from Cayden to send one representative to assist each Product Manager. The names of the Product Managers are Mandy, Clarissa and Elena CEO Finance Material Purchasing (MP) Production (P) (F) Human Resources (HR) Research & Development (R&D) Product Manager Mark Representative Mandy Product Manager UD Clarissa Product Manager Elena Eddy Repre Mark, Ben, and Eddy are colleagues in Finance department. After the restructuring (as shown in the organisation chart above), all of them need to report to two immediate superiors, i.e. the Finance Manager and the respective Product Manager. Sometimes, Mark, Ben and Eddy feel that they are torn in between, especially when the Product Managers are having different opinion with the Finance Manager. These three people in Finance department do not know who's instructions to follow. Besides, Ben and Eddy also feel frustrated with the leadership style of their Product Managers. According to Ben, Clarissa is a controlling person. She will give clear instructions and expect all the representatives to follow accordingly without deviations. As for Eddy, most of the time, he feels lost as Elena always allows all the representatives to do work in their own ways, without giving much guidance. On the other hand, Mark is quite happy with the leadership style of Mandy. Mandy always call for meeting and brainstorming with all the representatives. She will seek the opinions from the team before making decisions
