2. INDIVIDUAL PROJECT: STOCK SIMULATION GAMES (20%) The trading simulation game is designed to give a hands-on training to students on how to trade in the Malaysian stock market. This is an individual exercise. Fund managers. In this simulation, each student is given a virtual money of RM500,000 to trade in the stock market using a standard trading template provided by the lecturer. Acting as a fund manager, all students are required to trade (buy/sell) in stocks of their choices for the period of 10 weeks. Trading is assumed to be based on a "Market Order" using the "LAST" (closing) price on FRIDAY. Students are required to submit a one-page trading report ON EVERY MONDAY of the following week. 1.5 marks will be given for every report submitted within the time period. Students can trade up to a maximum of RM500,000. Students must maintain a positive fund balance whilst any student who has a negative fund balance will be DISQUALIFIED from the trading simulation game for that particular week, thus losing the mark for that week. He/She may resume trading the following week. Students should attempt to fully utilise the fund by buying/selling shares actively throughout the trading simulation. The fund balance should not be more than 10% (or maximum of RM50,000) on the third trading session. No mark will be given should the fund balance remain above the 10% limit from the fourth trading session onwards. Students can trade up to a maximum of 200 lots (1 lot = 100 units) on single stock per trade. Each trade will be charged a brokerage commission of 0.75%.
