ntroduction: As Project Manager, you have long ago decided that neither Admin nor Engineering have any talents in writing anything of value. Unless you draft the SOW, it will never be written properly. You must instruct each of your project team members, including the procurement specialist, on how to write an SOW that will reduce the usual pitfalls involved in contracts. At a meeting you have set up you will present a draft Contract SOW in outline for one of the procurement packages that you identified in your procurement management plan. You can pick any one you wish. It will contain all the critical headings and an outline of what should be under each. It will be detailed enough that all the "experts" have to do is fill in the blanks and confirm the logical sequence of events and quality control. You will not release the RFP or the IFB until you are confident that the work plan, milestones, risk mitigation and liability issues have been clearly addressed. Task: Your task is to draft a Contract Statement of Work for one of the procurement packages. Prepare to include all the appropriate headings with a brief point form outline of what should be included under each. Do not be intimidated by your lack of expertise. You have enough knowledge to prepare a reasonable SOW to reflect what you want. If at the end you understand it, so will the proponents (bidders). Make assumptions where required
