6. Traceroute and Ping In this problem you'll use a program called Ping to measure round-trip-times (RTT) to a few websites. If you are interested in the program, you can read this article which tells the history. The program Traceroute which displays all of the routers traversed from source to destination, and the time it took to reach each step you can look it up on Wikipedia Using Ping, what is the average time for your computer to reach the following: www.cnn.com www.ucsc.edu www.bupt.edu.cn Now use Traceroute (on Unix systems and might be tracert on Windows computers) and see how many "hops" to reach each of these webservers.
