Students should complete the Football Operating Budget worksheet (found in the document linked) for Year 2 of the program, which is the first competitive season. Some answers are available directly from the case narrative, whereas other answers require calculations. 1. Students will add more information to their Step 4 (evaluating the pros/cons of the 2 possible solutions). With the information read this week, students should add to additional pros and cons to their lists from last week.
2. Step 5 is to Make a Decision. As a member of the Football Advisory Council, you are to make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees as to whether or not football should be reinstated. Justify your answer based on the financials and the ethics of the university taking on this endeavor.
3. Step 6 is to Implement the Decision. If the Board of Trustees does not plan to reinstate the GU football program, state how you would manage communicating this to all involved. If the Board of Trustees does plan to reinstate the GU football program, state the first 3 steps you would take in this process.
