This is it group assignment, Groups shall be formed during week $2$ of the semester and

each group shall comprise of two or three members maximum in exceptional

circumstances. Each group is required to identify it need within UPNG and create a

system is the solution to the need.

Submit the assignment using the cover sheet provided at the end of this booklet. For NCD

open campus, submit your assignment to your tutor in his or her office. For outside centres,

you will submit at your Centre as per the Centre Director's directives.

Assignment Items

Information System Development and Operation is in the area of Project Management.

The assignment will involve a test of your ability to interpret, analyze project planning

and control aspects of strategic information management and Information System

decision making.

Part A $(20$ Marks$)$

You are to do your research and identify any need of Information System within the

campus or in any of the organization that will add value to its business operation as your

project. Name the project for example "clinic management system" or Sales Management

System. Your research has to be according to the lecturer's satisfaction to achieve good

marks.

Part B $(20$ Marks$)$

Analyze the project you identified using the following analytical tool:

A$.$ Use Porter's Five Forces and Value Chain Analysis Model to identify potential

information system techniques, tools and skill that could be applied to your project

using Knowledge areas of project management.

B$.$ Use SWOT Analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats

of your selected project

C$.$ Outlining the analytical tool must done according to the lecturer's satisfaction.

Note: You are required to write the above analytical tool results in your project

plan.

Part C $(60$ Marks$)$

With reference to Part A and Part B$,$ you will now develop the plan for your project you

identified. Use the knowledge areas and with project process and do write up planning for

your project.
