operations immediately and begin

construction of their new plant. The

constant noise and smoke emissions

affect the residents daily who complain

that their peace and quiet enjoyment is

destroyed and further, the smoke and

dust is posing serious heath issues for

some of the residents.The operations

manager for Bricklayers was approached

by the community representative who

brought the complaint of the residents to his

attention.The OM in turn told the

representative that they sought and was

granted permission by EPA for the erection

of the cement plant in the said area. As far

as the community representative knows the

EPA did not reach out to the community to

carry out an impact assessment.
