A clean and dry core sample is used in practicum measuring the permeability of cores to gas
Question:
A clean and dry core sample is used in practicum measuring the permeability of cores to gas using the PERG-200 gas permeameter apparatus. The dimensions of the measured core sample are the mean diameter and length, respectively, 1 inch and 1.25 inch. In this laboratory room, the temperature was recorded at 20 oC and the room barometric pressure reads 14.7 psi. The gas available for this practicum is nitrogen gas. All equipment components are assembled and ready to use with outlet / downstream pressure from the core holder, namely atmospheric pressure. The results of this practicum result in recording the values of the gas rate and inlet / upstream pressure parameters as follows:
Your duties are:
a) Calculate the core permeability to N2 gas in millidarcy units for each measurement.
b) Find the corrected Klinkenberg permeability, also the millidarcy unit.
c) Calculate the Klinkenberg factor.
