A Commitment to Communicate Marcy Magliozzi instructed Barbara Harrison to purchase a particular furnished house on Catawba Island for her. While examining the final contract, Harrison discovered that several thousand books that were in the house would not be considered as part of the furnishings that went along with the sale. Despite this exception, Harrison completed the purchase for Magliozzi. A little later, Magliozzi discovered that the books did not come with the furnished house. Magliozzi demanded that the contract be voided. Because in the course of carrying out her duties and before buying the house, Harrison learned that the books were not part of the deal, the law assumes that Magliozzi had the same information. She cannot use the loss of the books as the basis for voiding the contract.
