A compensation strategy that would be more effective today is a combination of incentive based approaches. One way that a company decides to reward its workers for their hard work is through a pay strategy. Although there is no universally effective compensation strategy, a few of the most frequently used models is salary, commission, team commissions, profit or revenue based. A good compensation plan does more than just draw and keep top talent. It builds a good business culture, gets people involved, helps the company stand out in the market, boosts morale, and makes workers feel like they are valued and appreciated. A compensation and benefits strategy that is effective can differentiate businesses from it's competitors, attract top talent, and ultimately contribute to your success.
Unions are still very important when it comes to workers' rights. However, employers who provide competitive salary and a fair working environment rarely see the use of unions. In my experience as a manager, I have crossed paths with the union. Never about pay issues but on other issues within the organization. So I do believe unions will see a reduction in membership for those who mainly seek increased pay. On the other hand, I don't see need for unions today like it was earlier in the late th and early th centuries. Today, organizations are aware that low earnings are detrimental to both employees and the organization's reputation. The efficacy of the company's team is the foundation of their business. Giving theme fair wages and compensation gives employees a reason to do their best work and excel in the job.
