A computer technology company performs IT duties for a local business. Mostly they perform backups of their database, which has grown from 60 GB to 600 GB in the past 5 years.

The backup process involves performing a differential backup every two weeks and a full backup once a month. The differential backup is written to a NAS device that remains in the office. The full backup is to a SATA hard disk that is taken off site. The worst case is that the business would lose two weeks of new data.

What do you think about this process? Is the company backing up often enough? Too often? Should the differential backups be saved off site as well? Is there an innovative solution that would alleviate this worry? If so, what is the innovative solution?
