A core sample was obtained from a new discovery sandstone reservoir. The sample was sent to the LABCORE company to investigate the rock properties of the reservoir. In the lab, 60 gm of the core sample were sited in a mercury pump and found to have 0.61 cc of gas volume. Also, 90 gm of the core plug was sited in a retort and found to hold 3 cc of water and 5 cc of oil. A part of the original core plug sample weighing 100 gm was sited in a pycnometer and found to have a bulk volume of 43 cc. (Where 30° API oil, and water density = 1.0 gm/cc). Determine the following: i. ii. Hii. IV. Porosity Water saturation. Oil saturation lithology A core sample was obtained from a new discovery sandstone reservoir.
