Question:
A) Design a 4-bit register using two “D” flip-flops (7474), two “JK” flip-flops (7473). Four logic switches will be used for DATA input and one logic switch will act as the CLEAR. You will also use one of the push-button switch for a simulated CLOCK. The output of the register will be monitored using four LEDs, and any other necessary support logic may be used. This is a very simple circuit; don’t over think it. The 4-bits will have the capability of being loaded in parallel with one clock pulse, and cleared without a clock pulse. As noted above, the clock will be simulated using the single push-button switch.
B) Use CAD software to create wiring schematics for this lab. Again note that each flip-flop will have only one switch for data input (four total), and a single CLOCK and CLEAR signal will go to all flip-flops.
