A few changes affecting my workplace are a change in management and implementing the 5 S's to make the company more efficient. The change of management has had both ups and downs; the good is a new culture in our department, meaning the new supervisor is slowly changing the way we interact as a team and has really made it a point to be more hands-on than our last supervisor who was always at his desk and only talked to you when he needed something done otherwise he had us deal with the team lead. This is good because it has given most employees in our department job satisfaction and a deeper commitment to the company. The bad is that some employees with more experience and longer tenure with the company feel like the last supervisor wronged them for not choosing them, creating some backlash. However, in my opinion, the good outweighs the bad since there are a lot more people happy with their jobs, which equals job retention and satisfaction.
