Question:
A mining company has a defined process where trucks are weighed using a scale to transport the extracted minerals. This allows weight control and guarantees safe working conditions for the driver and for different operations involved in it.
In this sense, this company has decided to design a system that allows the driver to be notified that he can place the truck on the scale to begin weighing.
We are looking for you to lead the design of the circuit proposed by the company. To do this, you are required to develop a report that contains:
Introduction
Development
Conclusions
Bibliographic references.
Below, the assigned activities are detailed of each requested question.
1. Prepare a comparative table between RC and LC oscillators in order to evaluate which could be used in the design proposed by the company. Point out at least three differences between the oscillators to compare.
2. Design a monostable circuit with a 3-second trigger that allows the green light of the traffic light to remain on. Use a 555 and consider the supply voltage to be 8 V. Assume the values of R and C to obtain the required trigger time. Also design an oscillator circuit that generates a square signal with T1 = 2 seconds and T2 equal to 3 seconds whose purpose will be to time the time that the scale indicator will change between one state and another. Use a 555 and consider the supply voltage to be 5 V. Assume the values of R and C to obtain the time required for the square signal. Consider an estimated frequency of 1.2 Hz.
3. Using the simulator of your choice, simulate the previous circuits designed with the 555 in monostable and astable mode to recognize its operation as an oscillator and as a timer.
