A recent contract between two individuals (Allan and Dwight) specified that Dwight would be the feature performer at a music concert Allan was promoting in London. Since Dwight's skills are unique, promoters are in constant demand for his services. Two months before the concert, Dwight informed Allan that he would be unable to perform due to a recent offer he could not refuse (meaning the reward was substantially more than Allan's) and believes he gave Allan enough time to find a replacement. The concert eventually had very poor attendance...

At this point, Dwight is appealing a lower court ruling that allows Allan to recover expenses related to the concert, before and after the contract between the two was terminated.
