A recent study found that there is a multibillion-dollar industry on the rise- The business of kidnapping, Ransom and Extortion. In some countries, kidnapping for ransom and business extortion has become a means for lawless individuals and gangs to make money. 35% of kidnaps were conducted in Asia, followed by Africa at 30%, the Americas with 21%, the Middle East with 12% and Europe/Russia with 2%.
