A rectangular vertical 5m wide and 6 m high gate is hinged at its base A to support water as shown in the Figure 1. To keep the gate in a stable position a counter-weight (W) of 1000 kg is attached at the upper end of the gate with help of a rope and pulley arrangement. Find out the height of water at which the gate begins to fall. The weight of the gate is 2000 kg. Neglect the friction at the hinge and pulley.
