A rich billionaire has taken out his checkbook and offered you the following deal. He's prepared to write you a check for the future value of 10% of your financial future (taxes and inflation are not a consideration). What is your financial future, you might ask? It is the sum total of all economic activity you can generate - your wages, salary, the income you'll make from investments, businesses you start, etc. - over the next 50 years or so. For example, if you made $50,000 per year for the next fifty years, then your number would be 2.5 million dollars (or, 25 hundred thousand) and the check you will receive is $250,000. As with any offer like this, there's a catch. This billionaire wants you to justify your number.
