A sample is cut from a preserved core for the purpose of determining the porosity and fluid saturations. The water and oil in the sample were extracted using a Soxhlet extractor. Here are the results of all the measurements made on the sample. Weight of sample in air: 53.5 g Volume of water recovered during extraction: 1.50 cm3 Weight of sample after extraction and drying: 51.05 g Density of dead oil extracted from core: 0.85 g/cm3 Bulk volume of sample: 23.6 cm3 Grain density: 2.65 g/cm3 Calculate the porosity, water saturation, oil saturation and gas saturation of the core as received.
