A study developed a new noninvasive method to detect early delivery (less than 37 weeks) in pregnant women. The method was applied to pregnant women during the first few weeks of their pregnancy to predict if they will deliver early. The researchers then compare their prediction with the actual delivery outcomes by monitoring participants until their delivery.

The actual delivery outcomes showed that out of 80 women, 15 of them delivered their babies early. Of the 15 who delivered early, only 1 woman tested normal under the new method. However, there were 41 women who delivered at normal time but were predicted to undergo early delivery under the new method.
