people in Canada have seen their stress levels double since the onset of COVID-19, with fears over
physical well-being and personal finances cited as the primary reasons. Nearly 40 per cent reported that
their mental health is worse or somewhat worse than before the outbreak. But, despite their self-
awareness, more than three in four people reported that, over the last month (May 2020), they have

distancing rules and new safety rules for their employees, clients and customers. In the midst of
these changes, employees were experiencing stress due to the pandemic and likely to
experience work related stress from the changed realities of work.
