Question:
A. There are many other factors and reasons why Americans work more and harder than Europeans. For example Europe is smaller in size with a huge population. There is less square footage for people there than here in the USA. Also more Europe is more built up than the U.S. In an Economical way of looking at things the Euro is also more valuable than the Dollar. I personally think Europeans work less to keep the workers motivated and to stay at their jobs, basically an incentive. Unfortunately in the U.S. I don't think we can do that because we are more spread out, the dollar has gone down the drain and we are already short handed in the medical field. If we did the same I think it would encourage hiring less or non-experienced people in the field to fill the missing gap. Which means more medical malpractice and lawsuits. Right now many jobs in the U.S. are short on workers. All in all it would be a nice idea to do the same as the Europeans but i don't think we are there yet.
B.I think that there should be shorter work weeks for many different reasons some include, people would be better focused on their work and become more efficient in producing greater results, it would give them more time to take care of any personal issues during reasonable work hours that they normally aren't afforded and it will give them more time with their families. The impact of a shorter work week on the healthcare industry, based on a piloted experiment done after the "Great Resignation" of Covid 19, provided evidence that had offered promising results. They found that by cutting the hours to 35 down from 40 thus giving their employees every Friday off with pay, greatly enhanced happier employees, increased production by 40%, employees took less time off, their electric bill decreased by 23% and their employees reported that they were happier with a shorter work week.
What this means for the healthcare industry is that it will probably never be incorporated as revenue is driven by the number of patients treated during a 40+ hour work week unless there were much more healthcare workers that would allow for the rotation of shorter shifts as used by Companies like Amazon. If there were a shortage of healthcare workers, the extra hours would have to be picked up by an overworked/underpaid healthcare force.
The question is how would you separately respond to these two statements?
