Question: A two factor ANOVA was conducted to determine the effects of genders (male and female) and grades (Freshman through Senior) on the perception of campus
A two factor ANOVA was conducted to determine the effects of genders (male and female) and grades (Freshman through Senior) on the perception of campus safety. Figure 1 illustrates the student's perception of campus safety. The main effect of grade was significant, F (3,32) = 3.92, p =.02, partial eta squared = .27. Post hoc test using Tukey's HSD test revealed that Sophomores had lower perception of campus safety (M = 41.10, SD = 3.37) than Juniors (M = 54.2, SD = 3.37) on campus. The main gender effect was not significant f (1,32) = 1.99, p = .17, partial eta squared = .06. Therefore, we fail to reject the null hypothesis that school grades (freshmen through senior) have no effect on the perception of safety on school campus. However, the interaction of Gender with grade was not significant f (3,32) = .709, p = .56, partial eta squared = .062. We fail to reject the null hypothesis that gender and grade have no effect on perception of safety on campus
