A value$-$stream map $($VSM$)$ is a graphical representation of how all the steps in

any process line up to produce a product or service. A VSM also depicts the

flow of information needed to trigger the process into action.

A value stream is the sequence of activities required to design, produce, and

deliver a good or service to a customer, and it includes the dual flows of

information and material.
