For each example below determine the best communication channel to use to effectively and efficiently deliver the message. WHY?

$1.$Your company has had a bad $1$ quarter. You have been told to lay off $15\%$ of your staff ASAP

$2.$You have reviewed the performance of your $11$ employees, all of whom have performed well. Company rules only allow a performance bonus for $1/3$ of your employees in any given year. You must submit your decision in $2$ days and advise your employees of your decision.

$3.$A customer has filed a complaint via e$-$mail regarding the poor behaviour of one of your employees. The complaint is justified. How do you communicate to your employee? To your customer?

$4.$You have decided to accept a position with a competitor. You need to give notice and tell your employees, peers, customers and suppliers of your decision. How do you proceed?

$5.$Your company has been sold to a large multi$-$national with a competing division in your country. Your boss says there will be no layoffs in your division. You are not so sure but regardless have been told to advise your employees before the change is formally announced tomorrow morning in the national media. How do you proceed?

$6.$Your company has adopted a "Code of Business Ethics" after a lengthy court battle where the Company Directors and senior executives were forced to resign and are now charged with theft and malfeasance. All employees must sign that they have read and understood a rather lengthy and complicated document. If not they will be terminated forthwith. The union is outraged and has expressed concern that signing is unnecessary. You must proceed quickly!
