Activity 3: Eliminate or control the risk Your task. Purpose: For this activity, you need to conduct a group discussion to discuss eliminating or controlling the risks identified in Activity 2 and take measures to eliminate or control them. You also need to answer a few questions below about the group discussion. Roles and responsibilities: WHS Manager For this activity, you will be assuming the role of a WHS manager employed at the Feast of Flavours Restaurant for the last 12 months. You need to conduct a group discussion with other trainees or colleagues in your work or training environment to discuss the hazards and risks you identified and your suggestions for risk control. Explain how you utilised the hierarchy of risk control and why you believe your suggestions are appropriate in the circumstances. Request feedback or comments from the group on your suggested risk controls. Listen to alternative suggestions they may have. Members of the Group Discussion Your group may include a minimum of two other trainees or colleagues in your work or training environment. They will actively participate in the group discussion and share their comments or feedback on your suggested risk controls. They may also share alternative suggestions or ideas. Trainer Assessor Your trainer will arrange for you to participate in a group discussion about the risks you identified. He will not participate in the group discussion but will observe your interaction and communication skills and assess your ability to: problem solve actively and cooperatively participate in discussions, and assertively suggest control methods Tasks to be performed Conduct the Group Discussion.
