You will apply project management best practices to a scenario. Each week, the scenario unfolds, and you and your project team will address the topic and create project documents. The project documents build the necessary requirements to build out a project plan. Refer to the WP 2 Weekly Charter for the scenario.

Working in project teams of 3-4 students, you will complete a project plan to adhere to the Activity Instructions. The project plan will be submitted for this assignment.

Note: Each project plan should also be collected in your Brainbook. The Brainbook will be shared with your instructor for a progress check-in WP 5 and as a final deliverable in WP 9.

Activity Instructions

Note: Refer to the Airport Wireless Project page as needed.

Activity 1: Plan resource management.

Refer to the Plan Resource Management process in the PMBOK and discuss within your project team. Create a 1-2 page team charter document that outlines how the team is expected to work together. Include in the charter document a guide for how the team and the project manager will collaborate in various categories of decision-making.

Activity 2: Team development.

Refer to the PMBOK Project Resource Management Knowledge area and examine the processes associated with Develop Team. Brainstorm within your team to create a 1 to 2 page document that includes the following:

Team and individual performance expectations
How team and individual performance is evaluated
A simple intra-team communication plan
How training needs are identified
How training is carried out in the context of the project
