Verify that the network adapter or NIC is properly installed and detected by the computer with no conflicts. In Windows $,$ launch the Command Prompt and run the ipconfig $/$all command.

Based on what you circled above look for either eth$0$ or a random combination of letters and numbers at the top $($for Wired$)$ or wlan$0($for Wireless$)$ and ensure you see an entry in the ipconfig for that particular device. This ensures that the NIC is installed correctly and detected by the operating system.

Step $2-$ Adapter functionality $$ Self Test

Verify that the network adaptor is capable of pinging itself by using the ping command. $$To ping your machine, type either of the following commands in Command Line:
