Adele is a 68-year-old client and recently received a diagnosis of osteoarthritis. For most of her adult life she has engaged in meaningful activities such as playing golf and basketball. Due to her diagnosis, Adele is now unable to mobilise and complete certain tasks without support. # Case Study Question 11 As Adele's current support worker select the four (4) correct ways you could assist Adele to understand the natural ageing process and continue participating in her favourite activities. a) Advise she will need to accept these changes and is unable to participate in them anymore. b) Advise Adele she can work with the care team and health and leisure team to look at modifications and ways to participate. c) Ignore her desire for being active in basketball and golf and advise her she can only do activities as stated on her care plan. d) Arrange a follow up for the care team and health and leisure team. e) Provide Adele with information about the process of ageing and how it can impact her physical fitness and level of participation in activities. f) Explain she can still participate in activities and that modifications to activities can be made to support her to participate.
