After the retirement of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Consultow Company, a global multinational corporation, and after months of interviews, consultations, and negotiations, the Board of Directors have settled on you to become the new CEO! You worked under the former CEO as a Senior Vice President for five years, so the latest news comes as a good development for your career progress.

The Board now wants a glimpse at what to expect from your tenure and stewardship. They have, consequently, asked for a report on how you intend to lead the company. Luckily enough, you just graduated from university with a business degree and aced the Organizational Design and Analysis course.

Use your knowledge of the company of which you have been part for many years as well as the concepts learned in this course and Analysis course to craft a 6-8 page report for the Board.

1. What are the metrics that are critical in attracting and retaining high-performing employees? Provide examples.
2. How often will your personal connections impact recruitment and selection of leaders? Is it okay for the rest of the employees to use a recommendation from a current employee in the selection process?
3. Workplace discrimination undermines organizational effectiveness. How will you deal with it? Be descriptive.
4. Employee job satisfaction is important to motivation. How will you make sure the employees are satisfied? How will you measure job satisfaction? Why is employee job engagement important to you? Describe one theory of motivation you will use.
5. How do you think you and your leadership team can strike a balance between authenticity and managing your own emotional displays (e.g., surface acting) in the organizations? Or do you think it is impossible to achieve such balance? Why or why not?
6. What are the factors that influence your perception? How will you control your perceptions?
7. How will you ensure cohesiveness and diversity to support group effectiveness in the organization? Develop your code of ethics and corporate social responsibility.
8. What issues could affect the productivity of the team you have assembled? How will you solve the issues to ensure success of the team?
9. As a leader, the entire organization looks up to you. How will you have a positive impact on organization through building trust and mentoring?
10. Consulted company is a global organization with branches in Africa, Europe, and the US. Therefore, you have a lot of virtual teams and meetings. How will you run team meetings for maximum effectiveness?
11. Describe the factors, under your leadership, you will create to sustain the organization’s culture.
12. How will you work as a "change agent" for the organization? How would you begin, gather information, and create buy-in for your ideas?
13. What factors will you consider as you expand globally in terms of your organizational design?
