Between the basic and applied methods, the applied method seems most appropriate for my project. While considering what I want to speak about I too want to find a solution for it. The more I try to understand how to better break down a dissertation topic the more I realize the research style and the approach I need to take to get the best out of my research efforts. Applied research is meant to aid in solving a problem that the researcher would like to solve and want the reader to understand the application. My understanding of basic research does not include the practical use of the information discovered (Waytopia 2017) There are multiple techniques and designs to model from when creating a dissertation, that you must know what you are researching for Juodaityte, 2008). Know if you are adding to existing information or will you help to better understand the reasoning for a process or functionality? To research for more information and understanding and applying what was learned to generate a solution is my understanding of applied research and with what I would like to consider for my dissertation a possible solution and understand why the problem exists. I know that I am not the only person with a concern for the problem, however I would like to develop a solution and know how long the solution would likely take to implement and see a change. I too must be okay with knowing my solution may not solve a problem completely. The mere fact that I know I have done enough research and made the effort to blueprint an application that will at least begin a process for solution would be rewarding.
