1. Workforces in many nations are changing due to changes in birth and mortality rates, immigration, age distributions, external pressures, and competition. Question: What is the significance of diversity issues on the nations growth, and how do they affect the workforce of a nation? In the U.S., how have these changes altered the national workforce? Has the focus on diversity improved or injured the national culture? Is diversity, as a construct in itself, always positive? What other factor (s) may be necessary to make diversity successful?
   • The significance of diversity issues on this nations growth is that diversity results in positive impact on the nations growth because it results in better creativity, more innovation, better educated in the work-force, greater occupational specialization, better matching skills, a better productivity for organizations and overall higher economic productivity.
2. Diversity in organizations is an aspect of societal changes and is increased or impeded by individual, organizational, and societal factors. Question: How can organizations manage diversity on a long-term basis?
   • Diversity in an organization includes people from different characteristics and varying gender, age, religion, race, ethnicity, and cultural background. Some benefits in an organization in a long term basis are, better decision making, higher innovation, more employee engagement, different perspectives, better company reputation, increase in creativity, and most importantly faster problem solving.
   • In this week's Ted Talk, what actions does the speaker describe that will decrease stereotypes?
     • This is an important and strong message with a relevant point delivered with such passion and compassion, and more importantly with everything we are living nowadays. She explains that it is easier to connect negativity with a black face than it is with a white face. Some of the actions the speaker describe that will decrease stereotype are; that we should see everything colorblind meaning seeing everything in one color not just black and white. She also said to expand our social and professional circle, to meet new people. To go deeper and closer build new relationships, not to be afraid, and then you will see what kind of holistic person they are, to go against stereotype.
3. What key takeaways, from this course, will you apply in the workplace?
   • In this course I have learned many new things that I am able to apply in real life, to make a difference in the work place and out on the street. To show people that at the end of the day we are all equal, we are humans that we want the same things, that for us to be able to achieve those things we should help each other and look further ahead than just are background and culture.
