All about Internet Protocol addresses. Computer Science project.
Create a single post containing three IP addressing exercises which you have created. Each exercise should focuses on a different one of the following:
1) Determining the number of subnets and the number of hosts per subnet for a given mask.
2) Determining the subnet mask length given specifications.
3) Converting a subnet mask between formats.
Your questions should be something along the following lines:
1) How many subnets and hosts per subnet would there be for A.B.C.D/X?
2) A company is given the A.B.C.D/E address space. It needs to have at least X subnets with at least Y usable hosts per subnet. Determine an appropriate subnet mask.
3) There are a few possible question formats that could be used here. For example, what is the binary equivalent of the /24 mask? What is the decimal equivalent of the mask 11111111 11111111 11100000 00000000? What is the slash equivalent of 255.255.192.0? (You only need to ask one question.)
Be sure your exercises can be solved with single (NOT variable) length subnet masking.
