Have you ever wondered how the concept of resilience is developed though literary genres? The concept of resilience is complex and a dynamic process which characteristic can be developed, however, does not have a specific definition, but a general notion that it is the ability to adapt, cope and or bounce back after tribulation while living a meaningful and enjoyable life. Now assessing the level of resilience of the individual, group or community requires analyzing both objective and subjective component. Authors Yan Martel ( Life of Pi), James Brown( I'm Black and I'm Proud), and Dimaline ( Legends are Made not Born) implements resilience theory and its characteristics through the use of theme, characters, and narrative structure to developed the concept of resilience.
