am having trouble coming up with 3 design concepts for an automatic soap dispenser. The dispenser must include a motor, actuator, sensor, and a battery pack. The design concepts must include advantages and disadvantages. The PDS is below
Target/Audience: This is targeted at all customers as this product is essential, especially during this pandemic. It can be used in public areas such as hospitals, schools, supermarkets, etc.
Function: The automatic hand sanitizer will be operated by a sensor to avoid contact through the handle. The sensor will either be a Radar-based sensor, Photo sensor or a passive infrared sensor. The mechanics of the dispenser will also allow the use of other liquids such as soaps, hand sanitizer and liquids to further increase the use of this product.
Maintenance: The dispenser will need regular maintenance checks to ensure that the pumps are functioning properly and that no leaks are visible. The dispenser will also need to be regularly cleaned on the inside and outside to avoid contamination and spread of the virus. It will also include a replace cartridges system to avoid contamination.
Aesthetic appearance: The dispenser will have been designed with aesthetics in mind. It will have smooth lines and curves to show a smart/luxury look. To match surrounding and backgrounds the dispenser will come in black or white. It will have a transparent window in the middle of the dispenser to show how much liquid is left.
Materials: The product will be made from ABS. ABS has a low melting point making it easy to 3D print and can be formed into many shapes. It also has low production cost and is also versatile in its colours and textures.
