In the column, adequate purification was obtained after 3 minutes of residence time. Fixed bed is at a position of 3m above the ground level. The column is packed with spheres having a diameter of 11m and void fraction of the bed is determined as 0.4. Length and diameter of the column is to be estimated. There has to be 3 elbows between the compressor and the fixed bed.What assumption can we take about the height level of the compressor to get the most efficient result from it? How to make energy balance, and calculate pressure difference because of the height difference and friction loss between compressor and fixed bed? If there are missing informations for the calculations please let me know.
