Analytical Hierarchy Process Project

Project Description:

Your goal is to apply the Analytical Hierarchy Process to a real world problem. The problem your team chooses should have at least four alternatives to choose from and at least four criteria to judge each alternative on. You must collect data from relevant websites or news articles so that you can justify the alternatives you are comparing and the relevance of the criteria you are choosing. Your research should also guide how your team assigns the scores for the pairwise comparisons between alternatives across each criteria and the criteria comparisons. Finally, you must select the best alternative using the AHP method.

Project Deliverables:

Each team must submit two documents:

• A pdf document:
  1. Describing the real world problem you chose, why you chose it, and the sources of your information on that problem.
  2. Describing the pairwise comparisons you made and justifying your comparisons
  3. Describing the criteria comparisons you made and justifying your comparisons
  4. Showing how you applied the AHP method (possibly with screenshots of the Excel templates you used or your calculations)
  5. Detailing your final recommendation based on the AHP method
• A PowerPoint presentation with a project summary that you can share with the class
