Annotation means to make notes as you read, to talk back to the text. You've probably done this in other classes many times, but for quick reads in Comp we will try the method. You will need to MARK UP THE ARTICLE with notes and examples following this format:
Find parts of the Rhetorical Triangle, with a few examples of each:
What ETHOS is there? What sources did the author consult? How trustworthy are those sources?
What LOGOS is there? What quotes or evidence stands out?
What PATHOS is there? What language seems loaded or full of emotion?
Find quotes that are important and summarize their meanings. Look especially for their Thesis statement.
Write paragraph to share your overall opinion of the article
