Another project manager, Steve, approaches you to ask for some advice. He is managing a project and some unforeseen circumstances are threatening to negatively affect the project$$s schedule and budget. He provides you with the following information.

Steve is overseeing the development of a new record managing software package designed specifically for a grocery store franchise. The initial design has been completed. The tasks that remain for this phase of the project are being done simultaneously. He has assigned the following tasks to the team $($Chris$,$ Ami, and Musa$)$:

Backwards compatibility: The new software will need to interface with the company$$s old system. Chris has been assigned $5$ days to complete this task.

User interface: The user interface must include internet enablement to allow for remote access. Ami has been assigned $3$ days to complete this task.

Security: The existing security system will be used but needs to be modified slightly to give multiple users various levels of access. Musa has been assigned $3$ days to complete this task.

On day one Chris discovers that some of the company$$s documents weren$$t properly archived in the old system. These documents need to be formatted and archived so that Chris$$ backwards compatibility interface can run. It will take $4$ days for one person to format and archive these documents. Chris needs this work to be done by day four of the schedule otherwise he will fall behind.

Both Ami and Musa have the skills and knowledge required to do this work. They are both willing to work for two extra days each, but both want a pay increase for those days due to the short notice. Steve has found another person who could do this work and could start on day two, Lauren, but she will need to undergo a day of training before she could start.

Steve needs to propose the best possible solution at a business case level meeting.
