Once a month, the debtors' master file is updated by the current month's transactions. Each time the update is run the accumulated transactions are sorted into account number order and matched with their master account on the master file which is then updated. A listing of the sorted transactions is produced during the sort. Debtors' statements are produced during the update. After the updating, an aged balance listing is produced, using the updated debtor balance details stored on the debtors' master file. Both listings are sent to Head Office.
