During the past few decades the growth of Apple has exploded into the massive organization we all are familiar with today . The smartphone is just one area that Apple has developed that has become an instant leader in many industries by way of their fresh ideas . With products such as the iphone , iPod , and iPad , Apple has been able to build a solid loyal base of customers . In 2020 Apple reached a benchmark reached by no other US company by reaching the Wall Street value mark of $2tn (Sweney & Davies, 2020). When an organization reaches the top of the market the journey just begins as remaining there becomes more difficult daily . Once an organization is at the top every competitor sets their goal at overtaking it. It is important that an organization does not lose focus and remains competitively aware of the market and competitors . To conduct this study the following areas will be looked at : leadership effectiveness at Apple , their competitive advantage , , and their strategy for growth . Leadership Effectiveness at Apple At Apple , the vision has not changed from when Jobs stepped down and Cook took over but the leadership style is quite different . They both require high performance and the expectations are through the roof . Jobs was known for his leadership , innovations and requirement for perfection where Cooks tenor can be categorized as team focused , open , and a composed manner (Dudovskiy , 2019 ). General management was the approach used by Jobs and he was a master at pinpointing the right specialized person for the position (Heracleous Papachroni , 2013 ).
