Around the World Presentation

Here is an enjoyable method we will use to informally feach one another about the culture and environments of various countries. Each student will introduce the class to the practical side of venturing to a foreign country to be culturally sensitive and aware of what is expected when conducting business in that country. Everyone will create a $7-8$ minute, $5-6$ Slide $($excluding cover and reference pages$)$ Powerpoint Audio Deck recording and upload it to the Presentation submission link. I'll share all Audio Decks on eConestoga. Areas that you might explore:

What is the political and economic history of the region, and how has that history shaped the laws and practices?

What is the cultural profile $($using the dimensions defined by Hofstede as a framework and how are these cultural dimensions exhibited in business practices? What cultural dimension of this country or region favors foreign investment?

What customs and traditions are observed? What is the currency used? How do people dress? What do they eat and drink? What language is spoken?

What are the strategies for handling cultural differences at the negotiation table? The dos and don'ts must be aware of during the business negotiations in the country.

How attractive is the region for foreign investment beyond the cultural dimension listed in the first question?

What US S Canada firms currently conduct business in that country, and what challenges have they met?

What are the governmental policies to solve the national and global crises in finance and the economy?
